GVL Today – Fresh Fridays On The Grand Lawn

Starting this Friday, Hartness will host a monthly market featuring local farmers, specialty artisans, family fun and live entertainment from 6 – 8 p.m. through October 19 (check the website for specific dates).

To kick off the season, dance to music by local musician Tim White + be sure to wear comfy clothes if you want to get bendy with a yoga class at 6:30 p.m. (don’t forget to bring your mat). If that’s not your thing –  or the kids need to burn off some energy – play some rounds of cornhole or walk on the typically private Hartness nature trails…

Now, let’s talk about the food:

🍦 We already know it’s going to be hot outside, so King of Pops will be there with refreshing pops like Thai Iced Tea or Chocolate Sea Salt (our fave).

🍯 Milk and Honey Market will have handmade boutique items sourced from Fair Trade brands, like statement earrings and woven clutches.

🍋 If you have a sweet tooth, the strawberry or lemon desserts of Marvelous Pies look amazing.

🍓If you’re more of a DIY pie-maker, pick up some fresh strawberries from Sandy Flat Berry Patch to take home.

Basically, there’s nothing better than a picnic on a warm night with beautiful mountain views. We recommend grabbing a plate from Henry’s Hog Hauler food truck + picking up a bottle from Overmountain Vineyards (or sipping an iced coffee from Exchange Co.). Find a spot to sit + enjoy the music and get ready for the weekend.

Pro tip: The first 50 guests will receive a Hartness tote bag (perfect for carrying all the goodies you’ll be buying).
